Since its inception in 1999, Spiritual Renaissance Singers of Greensboro (SRSG), has perpetuated the unaccompanied arrangements of the African American Spiritual through performance in a number of ways. Highlights include:
  • Concerts in area churches, colleges, universities, and concert series featuring works of both established and new arrangers.

  • A continuing residency at Bennett College for Women since Fall of 1999 with additional support from Providence Baptist Church and the Singers Studio in Greensboro.

  • CD’s, produced in 2003 and 2006. Obtain them by calling Pat Trice at
    336-273-3237 or emailing tricep@bellsouth.net.

  • Scholarships and Vocal Development Awards to deserving voice students matriculating at local institutions of higher learning. 2004 Vocal Development Awardee, Sidney Outlaw, was a Regional Finalist in the 2006 Metropolitan Opera Auditions.

  • Two church choir workshops, co-sponsored with West Market Street United Methodist Church in 2002 and 2004.

  • June 2005 performance at the Piccolo Spoleto Festival in Charleston, South Carolina.

  • Festival, co-hosted with First Baptist Church of Greensboro, for over 200 collegiate singers from local college and university ensembles in October 2005.

  • July 2006 performance at historic St. Philips African American Moravian Church in Old Salem, North Carolina.

  • June 2007: Music Camp, co-sponsored with West Market Street Methodist Church, for middle school children.

  • June 2007: Performance of choral prelude at the National Cathedral in
    Washington, DC.

  • April 2008: Gala Concert and Award Ceremony at the Historic Carolina Theatre as part of the Greensboro Bicentennial Celebration.

  • 2008-2009 Tenth Season Celebration: Remembrance and Renewal.

  • Yearly presentations to school-age children.

  • Financial support for concerts and projects through donations to Friends of SRSG and grants from the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro, United Arts Council and the Greensboro Bicentennial Commission.
